alright guys i got a brain baffler here. ive been searching and reading material on this and still cant come to a conclusioin. so i have a dohc zc and its starting to overheat. bled the system and burped it and ive got no air in the cooling system. popped the cap off while the car was running to see if the radiator is moving water. it is. even took the radiator out and ran a garden hose thru both ends to see if any crap came out indicating a clog or something. no crap. also poured water in top raditor hose and had the bottom one removed to see if water was flowing through the motor. and it was. removed the thermostat completely to see if it was bad and blocking. still overheats. now i havent done a compression test to see if i have a bad head gasket but the car dosent seem to have any power loss at all. now i dont have a cooling fan on it right now but its weird ill let the car idle for 30 minutes no overheating. ill pull it out the driveway and in 30 secs gauge well just bunk upwards really really fast. ive ran the motor for some time without a fan and it has never overheated until recently. so am i just a rookie and the motor really does need that fan to disipate radiator heat or am i just miissing something here. help is appericated.

Also I'm trying to decide if I wanna use a thermal intake mani gasket. Main reason I would get one is they're reuseable and they don't leave paper shit all over the mating surfaces when you take em off LOL. Any thermal reduction in the intake charge is an added bonus IMO. Who makes the most inexpensive thermasl gaskets? They're all pretty much the same right?

Hey everyone, I've been lurking around here for awhile so I decided it was time to post up lol. Names Joey, I'm from NE Texas, and this is my 86 si :D

It's got a DOHC ZC with a custom exhaust from the header back and a stage 2 clutch. Inside its got some power leather seats, and outside its got a JDM front lip. Altogether its a pretty nice ride, but I do have my work cut out for me getting it where I want it and looking real clean inside and out. Current plans are to find time to port match my dc header for it, get an intake, get a valve adjustment, and a short shifter. After that, its paint, more low, get the pin-stripe trim (if possible to fit), and save for the turbo build in the winter... here are some more pics for you guys...

Dirty huh?! I know, I know, I'm slacking on the cleaning part but these were taken right after I got the car and this 240lb guy doesn't get along with the 100+ degree weather we're having!! Lol

Thanks for looking!
